We're building a marketplace where parents trust us with their kids. That starts with how we vet our tutors.
Verified credentials
Every tutor uploads a government ID and at least one teaching credential (degree certificate, prior school experience, or test scores). We check identity against the ID before the profile goes live.
Background checks
For tutors working with students under 13, we additionally run a third-party background check via a trusted partner. The badge appears on the tutor's profile.
Recorded sessions (opt-in)
Parents can opt in to have all sessions recorded. Recordings are encrypted and only the parent and tutor can access them — Hamara staff cannot view them without an explicit moderation report.
Free trial first
Every booking starts with a 15-minute free trial. No card required. If the fit isn't right, you owe nothing.
Refund policy
Cancel up to 24 hours before a session for a full refund. Within 24 hours, we'll refund 50% — the tutor has already blocked the time. Sessions that go poorly can be reported within 48 hours for a full refund.
Reporting
Hit the "Report" link on any tutor profile or session. We respond within one business day and our trust team can suspend accounts immediately if needed.
